round two - calen is being, shall we say, a little stinker. he still has not evened out with his night-time sleep habits (though his nap schedule has been quite tolerable), and tonight is no exception. he woke up from his last nap at 3:30, so keeping him up until bedtime was a bit of a stretch. he made it with no major meltdowns, though, and went down easily around 7 pm. no sooner had mark and i headed to bed at the rather early time of quarter to nine (we were in fact still brushing our teeth), then i heard our dear little angel hollering in his crib. i had my suspicions that his bedtime meal hadn't been overly sufficient, so i decided i would let him eat again (quickly) and than go back to bed.
that didn't suit him, apparently. he began crying/hollering almost immediately upon being put back in bed, and continued to holler/scream for about 30 minutes. so i got him up again, soothed him, rocked him, etc. (but didn't feed him), and laid him back down. now i'm just waiting to see if it'll "stick".
ah, the joys of parenting.
in other news, we have our tree up, and are slowly getting our christmas shopping done. i'm just hoping that everything arrives in enough time for us to get them to their final destinations in time. we'll see.
we drove up into forest service land again for our tree (at least i think that's what it is - and yes, we got a permit. :)). calen enjoyed being out, and of course didn't mind the cold as he was all bundled up in his quilt. he was very cute, if i do say so myself. he also very much enjoyed getting to watch his daddy drive - a new experience for him since we were riding in the truck.

yay, it worked :)
ReplyDeleteI especially love the smile on Calens face in the last photo, he's so sweet!
