Alsea Falls camping trip

In early August we took a family camping trip to a place called Alsea Falls. It's about 35 miles from Corvallis, very pretty, and fairly remote and quiet. We had a great time...until the last morning (Sunday) when the boys disturbed an in-ground bees nest and then it got a little less great. Calen was stung three times, Owen was unscathed (except I think both the boys were stung once each on Friday), and Mark was stung once.
Once Calen calmed down he was willing to let us stay long enough to eat breakfast and finish packing up. :) Overall we had a great time.

Independence Day 2013

I figured I'd put the year on the title, just in case there was any confusion. I post infrequently enough that the year might not be immediately apparent... :)

We did our usual "Roseburg for the 4th" and made the short trek down for the weekend. The boys got a slip and slide from Grandma and Papa and had a blast with it. Owen got to do his first fireworks - with help of course :) They both loved it. Plus, Grandma and Papa's neighbors up the river shot off a full fireworks show in the river. It was pretty spectacular. No pictures of that, of course. :)
