Bedtime Story

I just got through tucking Calen in bed for the night (which means he just came out of his room for the first time as I type this), and, since I told him I wasn't going to read him a story tonight, this is what he decided would happen. Enjoy the following dialogue, related as well as I can remember.

"Mommy, I'm just going to tell you one little story from my brain."

"Ok, buddy."

"Um. What is one of the two things I say?"

"Once upon a time..."

"Oh. Once upon a time, there was a boy named Calen. And Owen. And one day they got their binoculars, and Owen got his, his, his...adventure hat. Um, fishing hat. And they went to a park called....SAFARI (dramatic whisper)."

"They saw leopards. And cheeters (Cheetahs, of course). And a....GIRAFFE (dramatic whisper). He had a long, long neck, like Willie the Giant (I have no idea who he's talking about here). And long, loong legs, like Willie the Giant. And a huge back, and huge ears. And he was very neat."

"The end."
